An ongoing annual scholarship of $1,000.00 funded by Betty’s
husband, Dan Livesay, will be awarded to a deserving high
school senior who has been accepted into a college music
degree program.
A longtime member of MTAC-SACB, Betty taught piano to
hundreds of students over the course of 64 years. While inspiring
excellence and discipline, Betty instilled a love of music and
learning in each student she had the privilege of teaching. She
joyfully served on the MTAC-SACB Board in various positions
including President.
Betty served as accompanist for Chabot Community Choir and
First Presbyterian Church choir for many years. She also
developed the Gevalia Piano Quartet and performed music of
multiple genres written for 2 pianos, 8 hands (and sometimes
more!). Betty enjoyed performing and lived her life serving others
with her beautiful music. May this scholarship inspire students to
do the same.
